The famous award-winning musical choir, the University of the Philippines Madrigal Singers, will be performing a series of concerts entitled ÒThe Most Beautiful Sound on EarthÓ in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1 to 3 December 2005.
The UP Madrigal Singers choir is considered one of the worldÕs best chorales. It has consistently won top honors in the worldÕs prestigious choral competitions for the last 42 years. It has garnered top prize in the most prestigious international choral competitions held in Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Spain and Germany. The choir recently won the 2004 Certamenes Internacional Habaneras y Polifonia in Torreviejo, Spain. Founded in 1963 by National Artist for Music, Prof. Andrea O. Veneracion, it is composed mostly of students, faculty and alumni from the University of the Philippines
Their performances in San Francisco and the Bay Area are organized by the Star of the Sea Church and St. Augustine Church, in cooperation with the Stella Maris Choir and Chorus Cordis Vestri. Following are their concert schedules:
