Background:
Various activities for the entire month of October will be held in honor of Filipino-American History in the United States.


A-Day Celebration
Date: October 20, 2007
Venue: Green Room War Memorial Building

Background:
The event is organized by Mr. Rudy Asercion of the War Memorial Commission and it commemorates the Leyte Landing led by General Douglas MacArthur. The event is intended to be the Pacific version of D-Day. It honors all the Allied forces that took part in the liberation of the Philippines, especially the Filipino soldiers and guerillas.

First Annual International Boxing Invitational

5th Annual Parol Lantern Parade

Venue: 6th & Market Streets to the Yerba Buena Gardens

Background:
This event, organized by the Filipino American Development Foundation (FADF)/ Bayanihan Community Center, highlights the Filipino Christmas culture and traditions in San Francisco and aims to bring to the mainstream a Christmas tradition that is uniquely Filipino.
