SF Consulate Welcomes New Team Member
Consul General Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez and other members of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco welcomed Mr. Jaime Calano, Consular Assistant, who arrived in San Francisco on 25 May 2007.

Mr. Calano finished A.B. Political Science at the Manuel L. Quezon University. He started his career at the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1985 as Assistant at the Office of United Nations and Other International Organizations. He also served other offices in the Department in various capacities such as visa officer at the Office of Consular Affairs, disbursing officer at the Office of American Affairs, and administrative officer and property officer of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Coordination.
Jamie E. Calano
In the Foreign Service, Mr. Calano has served as secretary to Ambassador Rodolfo L. Diaz from 1989 to 1996 and administrative officer from 1993 to 1996 at the Philippine Embassy in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. He was also administrative officer from 1998 to 1999 and Assistance to Nationals officer from 1998 to 2004 at the Philippine Embassy in Amman, Jordan.

Mr. Calano is from Loag, Ilocos Norte. He is married to Elnora Deyro and they have three children, Jaimel Abraham (17), Jamela Anna (14), and Janelle Angelica (8).
