Team Philippine Center headed by Philippine Deputy Consul General to San Francisco Antonio A. Morales along with the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco participated in the 23rd Annual Run Wild Thanksgiving Weekend 5k/10k running tradition on November 25, 2007 at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco held by the California Academy of Sciences.

The annual event saw the participation of thousands of runners and aims to raise funds to further the mission of the Academy in education and research. The soon-to-open new Academy in Golden Gate Park, which served as the back drop of the race, will house an exhibit of the Philippine reef to showcase the rich marine biodiversity of the Philippine archipelago.

“The participation of the Philippine Center Team in this annual tradition is an affirmation of the Consulate General’s support of the programs of the Academy, particularly in the protection of the environment, and also to advance and advocate a balanced and healthy lifestyle among our colleagues”, Deputy Consul General Morales said.
