| The Elise and Walter A. Haas International Award
Call for Nominations

The Awards Committee of the Elise and Walter A. Haas International Award has announced a call for nominations to this 2007 prestigious award. Deadline for submission of nominations is on November 30, 2007.
Established in 1964, the Elise and Walter A. Haas International Award recognizes an international alumnus of the University of California in Berkeley who has a distinguished record of service to his or her country. The service may be in any field of endeavor, including but not limited to arts, sciences, classical professions, education, business or government. The recipient must have been enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student of the university for at least one full year. Earning a degree at the university is not a requirement.
Nominations for the Haas International Award may be submitted by completing a nomination form or by writing a letter to the Awards Committee and outlining the contributions made by the nominee to his or her country. Supporting letters of endorsement are encouraged and a list of three references should accompany the nomination form or letter. Nominations should be sent to: The Elise and Walter A. The recipient of the Award will be notified in February 2008. The Award includes a cash prize of US$15,000.00, an engraved medallion and travel expenses for the recipient to attend the award presentation during the University’s Commencement Convocation Ceremony in May 2008.
