Team Philippine Center headed by Philippine Deputy Consul General to San Francisco Antonio Morales along with other officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General participated in the Strides for Life Foundation Colon Cancer Awareness Walk/Run event along Lake Merced in San Francisco on 14 October 2007.

The Sunday morning run was held to increase awareness of colon cancer among the general public and to raise funds for various educational and research programs.

Deputy Consul General Antonio Morales said, “As active and involved members of the community together with other Filipino Americans, the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco along with the Philippine Center Management Board and the Department of Tourism joins this very worthwhile endeavor as part of our personal commitment to remain aware of socially important and relevant issues and concerns, like finding a cure for colon cancer.”

“At the same time, athletic and family oriented activities like this are part of the consulate’s work-life balance initiative that we strongly promote among our colleagues,” he added.
