GSIS GM Winston Garcia Launches GV@PS at SF Consulate
The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco hosted a Philippine-American Town Hall meeting at the Philippine Center on 29 June 2007 featuring the GSIS President and General Manager as resource speaker. GM Winston Garcia officially launched the GSIS Voice Activated Processing System (GV@PS).
On hand for the launching and as resource speaker for the town hall meeting was GSIS General Manager Winston Garcia.

The GV@PS will enable GSIS pensioners to renew their active status with GSIS through cell phone, landline or payphone wherever they may be. This new technology uses voice biometric technology to facilitate the identification and authentication of pensioners. It complements the GW@PS which used fingerprint scanning to identify and revalidated pensioners.

After enrollment with GW@PS, pensioners may renew their active status either by visiting the Philippine Consulate General for finger scanning and revalidation or call dial the hotline 011-632-8590303 to have their voice identified and authenticated by GV@PS.

GM Garcia clarified that although GV@PS is optional, only pensioners who were issued and have activated e-cards may enroll with GV@PS.

The meeting also provided a venue for the pensioners to present their various concerns about their GSIS pensions.

GM Garcia explained that the GSIS is exerting its best efforts to come up with innovations and mechanisms aimed at providing quality service to the public, including those already living outside the Philippines.
