| ASEAN Arts and Crafts Expo, 22-25 November |

The ASEAN Handicraft Promotion and Development Association (AHPADA) announces the holding of the 1st AHPADA International Arts and Crafts Expo from 22 to 25 November 2007 at the Exhibition Center of the Mall of Asia at the Bay Area in Pasay City, Philippines.
The four-day arts and crafts expo is organized by AHPADA which is composed of the 10 ASEAN-member countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam. The Philippines is the incumbent President of AHPADA for the next two years.
The expo aims to promote ASEAN quality craftsmanship, industry exchange, preservation and development of craftspeople including training of youth and the handicapped, business development and cultural tourism promotion.
Aside from displays of various arts and crafts, the event includes crafts demonstrations, business forum, cultural performances, film showings and food tasting.
Other countries are also invited to participate and set up a country pavilion to introduce their products.
A Philippine Host Committee was organized with the support of the Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Tourism Authority, and the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation to ensure the success of this international exposition.
